Please consider that all animals pictured with people in the photos on this site were animals either heavily imprinted when they arrived in our care, non-releasable, or are single infants, getting the nurturing they require. WE DO NOT practice unnecessary handling of wildlife nor promote any wild creature as a pet. |
We recommend care for your pets at Hooves Paws & Claws Animal Clinic in Claremore, Okla! Thank you Doctor Cash for all you do for the wildlife we care for! 918)342-1509 |
It is a humbling honor every time a wild thing chooses to trust me. I will never numb to the marvel in it.
We are a simple American family trying to make a difference where there was a need. We work day and night, 7 days a week, 365 days a year caring for animals who have no owner, and no funds to care for them. We do without at times, but it's always worth it. Our money and time is well spent.
We chose and have been chosen. If you know and love animals, you know what I mean. You can't turn your back and still sleep at night. |
They dont choose the hour in which they are discovered. We are here for them and ready. We clean their wounds, set their bones and ease their pain. Starving babies are warmed, rehydrated and fed. They are here for as long as they need to be, and not a day more. We have no desire to keep them or tame them. Only to help them be who they are.... Nature's miracles. |
Sometimes after release, they come back to visit. That is truly a miracle. (All but the collared deer are wild...) |
But this is the sentiment we usually look for! |
Im Annette Tucker and my husband Robbie, and our daughter Katie own a small farm in NE Oklahoma north of Claremore. We care for on average, 800 to 1,000 orphaned or injured wild animals every year and have kept this up for nearly 9 years. We're here for the long haul. Somehow, we always manage to pay the bills and the critters never do without. We are licensed for any animal that comes in the door. We turn nothing away. This is not a zoo. We are a 24 hour wildlife medical clinic and pre-release care facility. We are staffed with volunteers which we carefully select and train. We operate from our own pockets and donations from supporters. Our donations are small and seldom. We need cash and supplies constantly to keep going. Our goal is to never turn an animal away, though some times we wonder if we can keep it up. So far, so good. |

I have learned over the years that not every person that wants to work with wildlife, SHOULD work with wildlife. They are a tedious responsibility and one that should not be undertaken by busy people with multiple obligations for time and money. It is expensive and not just so for cash. Your life belongs to these creatures and you live around their schedules and their seasons. I STRONGLY recommend anyone interested in wildlife rehabilitation, work with a facility almost daily throughout a full year. You will see the time and money it takes, and the toll it takes on your heart. It is truly a labor of more than love. It is a lifestyle, and one you wont easily be able to turn your back on. We display a lot of cuddly photos on this site, but make no mistake, I handle far more animals that want to tear my head off. Those just arent quite Kodak moments so the only evidence I have are scars. ;-) |
